Digitization of Lifting Gear – a Highlight
at the BAUMAG 2017

With 19,040 visitors (2015: 16,300), the BAUMAG 2017 in Luzern could set a new record and has developed into a major trade meeting of the building sector. From February 2nd to 5th, exhibitors at 200 stands were presenting a large number of innovations and further developments for the construction technology.

One of the highlights of the BAUMAG 2017 was the digitization of lifting gear. A leading manufacturer in this field, BRUGG LIFTING presented a market-ready digital inspection and ordering system. The product management software, which has been proven for many years, now features the pioneering NFC technology and, due to the associated app, also works on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets – and even offline. This technology is able to manage any type of lashing and lifting gear up to special lifting gear. The digitization will make the inspection service for customers even more easily and quicker in the future. The cumbersome search for products via the catalog and time-consuming ordering processes thus become a thing of the past. “We are pleased about the strong interest of the trade visitors in our new digital inspection service, which we could experience directly at the BAUMAG“, says Mathieu Bussard, Head of Sales and Marketing of BRUGG LIFTING. “Our system sets new standards for the digitization of lifting gear – great customer service, efficiency and innovation.”

The exhibitors gave the highest marks for the organizer of the trade fair and the Luzern location. According to the exhibitors, a large volume or orders were placed and numerous contracts were signed at the BAUMAG 2017. The organizer expects another full occupancy of the exhibition halls in two years, as many exhibitors have already registered for the next BAUMAG 2019.

BRUGG Lifting Proves the Efficiency of the Lashing App
with a New Partnership

The BRUGG Lashing App is a quick and reliable solution for improving the load securing in trucks and has been specially developed as a service for truck drivers. With its easy-to-use technology, the app performs complex calculations providing a useful support to the drivers.

As a result, the Lashing App has proved itself in the market – this is also shown by meanwhile more than 20,000 downloads to mobile devices with Android or iOS operating system. The first version of the Lashing App was developed in 2011 by BRUGG Lifting in cooperation with Schaefer Design.

As from 2017, the app will also be available through the FleetBoard Store of the telematics service provider Daimler FleetBoard. At the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2016, Daimler FleetBoard celebrated the world premiere of the new FleetBoard Store for Apps. The presentation included the prototypes of 14 apps. The platform deliberately follows an open design, enabling partners from the industry to contribute useful developments aiming at making road transports more efficiently. FleetBoard customers can book the Lashing App conveniently from their workstations and sent the app to their fleet. The truck drivers operate the booked apps via the driver tablet, i.e. the FleetBoard DispoPilot.guide. FleetBoard can be used both in trucks from Mercedes Benz and in all other truck brands. The integration of the Lashing App into the FleetBoard Store enables BRUGG Lifting to open up new target groups and to benefit from synergy effects in the market for commercial vehicle telematics. Thus, Daniel Schoepke, CEO of BRUGG Lifting, underlined the importance of the new partnership: “We are pleased that our Lashing App has become a part of the overall concept to increase the safety in the logistics sector, and we are convinced that the online networking of trucks and the development of the networked logistics systems of the future will progress successfully.” The Lashing App, like all apps in the FleetBoard Store, passed through a high-level quality assurance process and thus is consistent with the high FleetBoard safety standards.
